OUTBOARD GEAR

Our four channel Shadow Hills preamp is an indispensable part of our studio. We use it to give kicks and snares more punch, vocals more air and presence, bass tracks more 'oomph', and for every application in between. These preamps give us maximum flexibility in dialing in your tone and recording a well-rounded track from the start.

Want fatter drums? Warm, smooth vocals? An 'in your face' mix? Our 1176 offers all of that in spades. We know just how to tweak the knobs to make anything we run through it come out richer and fuller. Plus, its hard to beat the tone that the 1176 has been delivering for decades.

Creating a sense of space is essential in crafting a good mix. Reverb is a good choice in many instances and is useful in giving vocals, snares, guitars, and other instruments added presence. Our SPX990 is a classic unit full of classic reverb sounds. Ranging from subtle to extreme, we can easily design a reverb sound that fits your recordings. In addition to reverb, the 990 also offers dozens of pitch, delay, and modulation options enhance your tracks.

Another great compressor in our tool belt. Our DBX 266 has a clean and transparent sound which lends itself well to managing vocal and guitar dynamics

Don't let its size fool you - this DBX 163X doesn't hold back and does a particularly good job at keeping your bass guitar and kick drum signals in check.

It's always good practice to get your tone dialed in perfectly during the tracking phase. That'll mean less editing and mixing later on. EQ'ing goes a long way in bringing out those good, sweet spot frequencies while rolling back the less desirable ones. Our Audioarts units make that a cinch and help us bring added articulation to your records.
